چکیده

Temperature-dependent terahertz conductivity of tin oxide (SnO2) nanowire films was measured from 10 to 300 K using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. The optical parameters, including the complex refractive index, optical conductivity and dielectric function, were obtained using a simple effective medium theory. The complex conductivity was fitted with the Drude–Smith model and the plasmon model. The results show that the carrier density (N ) and plasmon resonance frequency (ω0) increase while the scattering time decreases with increasing temperature. The reduced carrier mobility compared with bulk SnO2 indicates the presence of carrier localization or trapping in these nanowires. (Some figures may appear in colour only in the online journal)

Doping-dependent electrical characteristics of SnO2 nanowires.

Tin dioxide (SnO2) represents an importantmetal-oxide group that can be suitable for a range of applications through the incorporation of dopants. For example, the electrical conductivity of intrinsic SnO2 depends strongly on the surface properties, as molecular adsorption/desorption will affect the band modulation and space-charge layer, which makes SnO2 an important conductance-type gas-sensi...

Uniform, Highly Conductive, and Patterned Transparent Films of a Percolating Silver Nanowire Network on Rigid and Flexible Substrates Using a Dry Transfer Technique

Silver nanowire films are promising alternatives to tin-doped indium oxide (ITO) films as transparent conductive electrodes. In this paper, we report the use of vacuum filtration and a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-assisted transfer printing technique to fabricate silver nanowire films on both rigid and flexible substrates, bringing advantages such as the capability of patterned transfer, the bes...

Silver Nanowire Networks as Flexible, Transparent, Conducting Films: Extremely High DC to Optical Conductivity Ratios.

We have used aqueous dispersions of silver nanowires to prepare thin, flexible, transparent, conducting films. The nanowires are of length and diameter close to 6.5 μm and 85 nm, respectively. At low thickness, the films consist of networks but appear to become bulk-like for mean film thicknesses above ∼160 nm. These films can be very transparent with optical transmittance reaching as high as 9...

Frequency-Dependent Terahertz Transient Photoconductivity of Mesoporous SnO2 Films

The transient photoconductive properties of tin(IV) oxide (SnO2) mesoporous films have been studied by time-resolved terahertz (THz) spectroscopy. We gain insight into carrier dynamics by measuring overall injection and trapping lifetimes using optical pump−THz probe spectroscopy, as well as the frequency-dependent complex conductivity at various pump−probe delay times. It is found that the met...

Conductivity of ZnO nanowires, nanoparticles, and thin films using time-resolved terahertz spectroscopy.

The terahertz absorption coefficient, index of refraction, and conductivity of nanostructured ZnO have been determined using time-resolved terahertz spectroscopy, a noncontact optical probe. ZnO properties were measured directly for thin films and were extracted from measurements of nanowire arrays and mesoporous nanoparticle films by applying Bruggeman effective medium theory to the composite ...
